Review and Buying Guide of Morphy Richards 43960 Accents Brita Filter Jug Kettle

Amazing results from this gorgeous kettle. Firstly this kettle looks amazing. The brushed steel is so modern and attractive, it looks beautiful in my kitchen. The blue light that comes on while the water boils is bright and modern too, giving it a very contemporary feel. There is also an audible click when the water hs finished boiling which is very useful. The brita filter is easy to fit into the kettle and after initially rinsing it in cold water it is ready to use. There is also a useful indicator on the side of the kettle which lets you know when you have to change the filter (every four weeks). It is very easy to set and also easy to see how much longer the filter has got left. You can even start boiling the kettle while the filter is still filtering your tap water which means no waiting aroundnow for the most important thing- the results. The filter means that tea and coffee are amazingly clear and clean tasting.

We have a problem with very hard water in this area and we have gone through two kettles in two years before i decided enough was enough and purchased this. I recommend buying the brita filters in bulk cause even though they last on average up to a month each you never know how quick they will go depending on the hardness of your water. We have also have a brita fridge which uses they same filters so we always have a large supply in the house. I’ve only given it four stars as in my opinion they should have made it 2 litre capacity so that you don’t have to boil it twice if you are doing more that four cups of coffee at a time. It does boil very quickly though and the blue glow to the water compartment is a nice touch and matched other appliances in my kitchen. They should think about varying the color for people who want to colour match.

A nice kettle but be prepared to spend some time getting rid of the plastic taste. Have had this kettle for a couple of weeks now, and generally it’s very good. -solid build quality, nothing loose or looking like it will fall apart before it’s time. -the design to accommodate the extra filter means cleaning and maintaining it will be very easy. -the filter itself is a simple system that can be maintained fairly cheaply (the filters last about a month and cost about £4 each to replace). You can also totally remove the filtering system if you wish and just use it as a normal kettle. ~~however~~the main issue we have had with this kettle is it took a long time to get rid of the overpowering taste of plastic it gives your tea/coffee. The guidelines that come with it recommend boiling and emptying it a few times before use. This is massively insufficient. In the end we used a mixture of water and bicarbonate of soda twice (and brought to the boil) and vinegar and water twice (also brought to the boil) before it started to produce an end result that tasted more like tea than sucking on a cheap christmas cracker toy. The only other quibble is if you are intending on filtering all the water you boil you will need to fill the filter compartment twice if you are intending on making tea/coffee for more than two people. This is only a minor quibble, but for larger families (or when you have guests) this becomes a pain when you have to sit by the kettle for 5 minutes and just wanted to quickly flick the kettle on. You can however totally remove the filtering compartment and just use the kettle as normal.

“Looks great, but build quality is not good enough, Stylish, and you won’t find better at this price, A nice kettle but be prepared to spend some time getting rid of the plastic taste, Noticeable difference in my cuppa, Morphy Richards 43966 Accents Filter Jug Plastic Kettle, 1.2 Litre, 3000, I dont like to give feedback on products until I have had “

The filter allows the boiling water to be crystal clear and gives a better cup of tea for all – great.

It doesn’t take long to filter but it’s still annoying. I think they need to go back to. I bought this kettle to help reduce limescale in the tea for my friend who lives in a soft water area. She has had it a short while and it doesn’t seem to be achieving that which is disappointing. It’s also quite a noisy kettle and the major downside is that you can’t get a full kettle’s worth of water in the filter unit so you have to wait for the first part to drain and then refill. It doesn’t take long to filter but it’s still annoying. I think they need to go back to the drawing board on this one. The one positive is that it is a nice design.

Morphy richards 43966 accents filter jug plastic kettle, 1. 2 litre. Cups of tea made from using this water filtered kettle are lovely and fresh. Also lovely and light weight to handle.

  1. Mark Pack TOP 1000 REVIEWER says:
This kettle looks rather swish, comes with a handy 2 year guarantee and also provides a bit of light relief with the instructions. Aside from stating that the kettle is safe to use specifically in a farmhouse, they also warn uses that after boiling the water will be hot. The water gauge is also large and clear to read, with a slightly snazzy touch of blue light, and – most importantly – it boils water quickly and then pours it conveniently. It also comes with an option to use brita filters to filter your water. You don’t have to use this system, but if you do this cuts the capacity of the kettle quite significantly as you can only half fill up the kettle via the filter at a time.

So far so good with this kettle, having tried all the others that have a breville water filter built in, and having all the others break within 6 months and just domestic use.

The filters can be expensive but asda usually do some good offers on. Lovely kettle,it’s does take a while to fill up though but it’s worth the wait. The kettle is a lot heavier then normal kettles so i wouldn’t advise it for someone who has hand or arm problems. I usually use a jug to fill it. The filters can be expensive but asda usually do some good offers on them.
