Review and Buying Guide of Igenix IG4030 Catering Urn 2

Fantastic product or service, in shape for function.

This genuinely is a significant, 30 litre, double-wall stainless steel hot water urn with an adjustable thermostat and all the safety options you could at any time want. 8 litre model of this urn and it was a fantastic dimensions for our workshop, but this 30 litre urn is actually greater suited for much larger sized venues, like back garden fêtes or essentially catering occasions. You will need to plan in advance as it can just take quite a even though for the drinking water to get up to temperature, but once it does it will click on on and off to retain it. This is a high-quality item at a superior price tag, just be certain you actually need to have a 30 litre urn5 out of five.

Comments from buyers

“Really liked this urn, Decent giant urn, swings and roundabouts for tea, Good quality urn, Good performance once you stop thinking of this Urn as , A decent sturdy product.”

This urn has a good cleanse look and has a easy tap to dispense the water. It has a helpful preserve warm setting and is really straightforward to clean up.

We purchased this for our church. Very pleased with this selection. A superior high-quality urn at a fab selling price. We are happy we acquired the larger sized one for the reason that even however we only fill it up to about 8-10 litres at the moment we know we can go larger when we will need to in the potential. It does not take long to get to temperature and quickly arrives on and provides the h2o up to temperature when it drops. Very sensible seeking and quite trim line. A terrific selection if you can not make up your mind.

Definitely exceptional solution to boiling water particularly for a huge household which drinks a lot of beverages. Odd to have it in a domestic environment and not sure how considerably lengthier we will use it for, but normally, sure.

We bought this for our church. Very pleased with this choice. A good quality urn at a fab price. We are glad we bought the larger one because even though we only fill it up to about 8-10 litres at the moment we know we can go bigger when we need to in the future. It doesn’t take long to get to temperature and automatically comes on and brings the water up to temperature when it drops. Very smart looking and quite slim line. A great choice if you can’t make up your mind.

Really excellent approach to boiling water especially for a large family which drinks lots of beverages. Odd to have it in a domestic setting and not sure how much longer we’ll use it for, but otherwise, yes.

This is a full size tea urn. 30 litres is around 100 cups of tea if you assume a cup to be 0. 3 litres, which is slightly smaller than a can of soft drink. Perfect for giant parties, gatherings, work events, etc. Obviously because it’s mains voltage – there’s physical (electrical) limits – if a 1. 5l kettle takes 3 mins to boil then you can’t pull more than 3kw from a mains outlet so even if you assume a kettle is 2kw then you’re talking somewhere well over half an hour to maybe an hour to reach temperature. Of course you don’t have to fill to the top (probably more like half way in practice) and it will heat up faster, or you can add more water later. Think of it more like a drinks immersion heater than a kettle. A massive volume of water will stay warm for a long time. With little insulation, it’s not a thermos, but still, expect it to stay hot for ages after turning off. Don’t be fooled into thinking it’s energy efficient to leave it on all day though, it’s not. Boiling water on demand is much more efficient. It’s also quite heavy when full – my 2ft fish tank is only 60 litres so this is half of that volume.

Swings and roundabouts for tea. I chose this because i’m looking to start up a user group again and making sure there are drinks available throughout the session is always problematic. It is made of stainless steel and has a measuring level on the side. The tap is a bit plasticky and i am concerned that the reset button (and instructions) appear to be on the base- not exactly user friendly. However i’m also concerned that it is going to take a lot of effort to fill if you aren’t near a sink. (plus it’s about 60cm/ 2ft high) once it is fully filled logically it will weigh 30kg+ (1l water=1kg) which means it requires two people to lift it safely. There is no insulation (so it’s hot to the touch) and based on the figures provided it only ends up as being about 50% efficient. I’m not sure if it is the answer to my problem, when i sat down and rethought it through. Best to make a careful choice before you commit that it actually matches your requirements.

Good performance once you stop thinking of this urn as. Good performance once you stop thinking of this urn as a kettle, takes a bit of time to get up to boiling temperature but once there you can add small amounts of additional water as you go avoiding long waits. Easy view water level is a big improvemt over our last unit which did not have this feature. I have only used for hot water, not tea or coffee although as it is stainless steel it would cope with ether. Easy to keep clean, spot does not spray, another bennifit over cheaper urns, altogether it good unit which feels like it will give long service.

This has a huge capacity but will fit in most car boots without any problem. Just boil this at start of week and you will have enough water to make tea for ages without dreary trips to fill a tiny kettle.

Robust and perfect for our training facilities at work. 30ltr means one fill per day for 12 people. Thermostatically controlled for energy efficiency.

It is stainless steel and looks quite solid. When empty it is quite light and so is easily portable. I spent sometime trying to remove the lid before i realised that it was a simple twist anticlockwise. (i had been trying the handles as they looked fit for the purpose). Although it holds up to 30 litres we filled it with only 8. There is a clear measure on the front. We used a large jug to fill it but a hose could be used. We then adjusted the thermostat and switched urn on.
